What has been the most significant new technology over the past 50 years?

I think the smartphone has probably had the largest impact on society. Computers are definitely up there, and without computers we wouldn't have had smartphones... but the smartphone literally put a computer in everyone's pocket. Our whole lives are now tied up in our phones.

    Happy November 1st

It's the Elmhurst brand oat milk & cashew blend creamer. I saw it at World Market, but they might have it at other places too. Product on the Elmhurst website

    ALL SAINTS DAY

Yes, Halloween is celebrated here, but it also isn't a nonworking holiday. The question wasn't about Halloween though, but about All Saints Day and All Souls Day.

    ALL SAINTS DAY

They're listed on the calendar, but they aren't nonworking holidays here. They're mostly religious observations, although Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebrations are huge around here.

    Use of coffee.

I drink coffee so that other people don't die. ;) Seriously though, I drink it for the energy and mood boost benefits, plus it's a nice warm start to my day. I mostly just drink iced coffee when I'm at work because we can only use straw cups there (not sure why, some food service rule that...

    The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings

I've watched all of them! I'm surprised that The Hobbit was stretched out into 3 films when the other books just got one movie per book (some of them could have used 3 movies to cover everything), but they also pulled some content from The Silmarillion to include in the Hobbit movies too.

    Hello / Goodbye Thread

Happy November! I'm extremely new here and figuring things out. I'm also a member on MyLot and ForumCoin (plus some other places), so I recognize a few faces.

What to do with all of the Halloween candy?

If your house is like mine, there's an awful lot of Halloween candy in the house this morning and it's far more than I think we can reasonably eat. Do you have any ideas on how to use it all up? Any chocolate candies can be chopped up and used in cookies, and we'll definitely be baking and...

What’s a family tradition you have that you want to pass on to your own kids?

We have a big celebration on the first day of winter. We have our big meal THAT day instead of on Christmas Day, although we do have a big breakfast on Christmas morning. It's what works best for us, and I hope my kids carry on that tradition.

    New Nail Wraps

Those look cute. You always have fun nails. How difficult are they to remove? Do you use regular polish remover to take them off? I can occasionally get away with polish at work, I've discovered. The rules in the paperwork indicated that we couldn't since we work with food served to the public...

    Happy November 1st

Good morning, Tina! I believe I know you from a few other sites as well. I only just learned about this site today and signed up. I'm currently enjoying a cup of coffee with apple pie spice flavored creamer. It reminds me of the Starbucks apple crisp coffee, but costs a lot less.
