Do you have to contact someone that places order on your online store for specific details?

I placed an order for fabrics on an online store. And within some few minutes, I received a call from them. They were asking me to give them more information about the order. They delivered promptly.

Do you have to contact customers to get specific details about their orders?

When I sell through social media, I usually contact the buyer. ON ecommerce market, it is the buyer who contacts me

Well i guess in cases were they are not sure about your order, they have to contact you to clarify things.

I've never been contacted by online retailers when I buy from them, probably because the details are clear. No need to clarify.

I think it's a good idea to do so if at all one isn't sure of the what it supposed to be done on the business for sure.
