Environmental Impact Analysis is an analysis that examines the impact a potential business has on the environment.

In some countries, it is required that any business that wants to register must submit an Environmental Impact Analysis report to ascertain if the business would be suitable for the proposed location.

Is environmental impact analysis required by law to do business in your country?

It depends on the kind of business. If it emits pollution there's a need for a company to comply the regulatory requirements for health safety of the people in the community. And if it's hazardous, permit to operate will not be granted.

In my country, every business or activity that can have a serious impact on the environment must have an Environmental Impact Analysis, so that your business can prevent damage to the environment by air pollution, as well as to avoid conflicts with the community.

But sometimes business people have no other choice, this is a business resulting from collaboration between several business people, such as property developers who also need an Environmental Impact Analysis (EIA). Likewise, other businesses can have an environmental impact.

When you conduct an environmental impact analysis, you would state the practical measures to mitigate and reduce the effects your business would have on the environment before you are approved. It is compulsory for all businesses in my country as the report is always stamped and approved by the regulatory agency. They have foot soldiers that go about business premises to check once in a while.
