How to properly handle a snitch

if you found out your friend or a family member is a snitch , how would you handle the person. What's the proper action to take?

Yeah i have face so many snitches in the work place and at school but the first thing i do when i find out that the person is snitch i stop talking anything around them and don't do anything around them so they don't have anything to snitch about me.

Well, I don't know how to feel about this because I myself was once such a person and it seemed right to me to tell my parents when my brothers planned something bad.
