Pop up ads Vs Banner Ads

When it comes to ad monetization, there are many options available. Two of them are banner ads and pop up ads. I hear people in some quarters say that pop up ads pay more than banner ads.

Is it true that Pop up ads pay for ad revenue more than Banner ads. Do you believe so?
