I came across an interesting question the other day about whether all humans descended from the biblical Adam and Eve. It's something I don't have a strong or fixed view on personally. The early chapters of Genesis cover human creation and beginnings, but they also cover so much more ground and can surely be interpreted in different ways.
For me, the exact details of our physical origins aren't as important as how we live and treat one another. I take Jesus's teachings as encouraging us to look past surface differences and value our shared life and dignity as fellow inhabitants of this planet. But I'm curious to hear what others think about this issue - whether you take a literal or more metaphorical view of Genesis, and how (or if) it impacts your faith and perspective on humanity.
