What is meant by Alice in Wonderland Syndrome? Alice in Wonderland syndrome is a fascinating and sometimes confusing condition. It is named after the famous book because it involves distortion of perception, similar to what Alice experienced in the story. People with distorted perceptions experience changes in their perception of size, shape, and distance. Objects might appear bigger or smaller than they actually are, or might seen closer or farther away. The person also imagines seeing a door that looks like its shrunk to half its size, or your own hands appearing giant.
The exact causes are still being investigated, but it is often associated with migraines, viral infections, sleep deprivation, certain medications, or epilepsy.
