Why do you think that the affliate marketing it's being complicated in website Monetization?

I have learned that majority of the people that do affliate marketing as the only on the monetization of the websites, fail. Why do you think that has to be so?

Well, I don't think affiliate marketing is becoming complicated in terms of website monetization, however, I believe making money with affiliate marketing is getting harder
