After a computer has been used for several years, it may develop problems and it is not worth spending more money to repair it or it is not possible to get the spare parts. Typically after how many years does a computer become out dated?

Technological advancements are so quick and with a blink of eye, you have something new launched. So, yes our computers and gadgets get outdated very quickly. But do we need to keep purchasing a new gadget every now and then?...is the question. Is it budget friendly?
I take good care of my gadgets. My laptop is almost ten years old and I don't need to buy a new one in any near future. I got a few things updated in the same one. It's running well and serving my purpose. So, it might be outdated as per the market, but for me it's pretty good and functional. It might run for another few years
