An excellent staff in capacity but doesn't understand a bit about team work. How to handle such staff?

There are people that are very competent at what they do. They always achieve results because of their competence. With all of these capacity, some of these very competent staff can't work as a team.

As a business owner or manager, how do you manage such a staff?
 
I think in a situation like this, the best thing to do would be to teach them how to be a team player. You can set up programs that would help in this aspect.
 
Most people that are really good have this problem. You would just have to be patient and put the person through the rudiments of working as a team player.
