Harvard University is giving free tuition for all students coming from families making $200,000 or less per year, the Ivy League school announced Monday, March 17.

That means about 86% of American families will qualify for the free ride to one of the world’s most elite universities,

"Putting Harvard within financial reach for more individuals widens the array of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives that all of our students encounter, fostering their intellectual and personal growth," Harvard University President Alan M. Garber said in a statement. "By bringing people of outstanding promise together to learn with and from one another, we truly realize the tremendous potential of the University."

That would be an awesome step and I am sure that many would welcome it. Talents come from all economic background but then opportunities don't come fair and equal to all. This is a great step to bridge that gap of talent and financial background. Getting into Harvard is not easy, they have a tough competition and only the deserving ones would be selected. Glad that no one would be left due to financial constraints. The university will have other ways to get the finance to maintain with world class infrastructure and other expenses.

I am certain that there would be a further criteria to limit people that would be beneficiaries of this.
