By right inflation should not affect food items, it is because these items are what people cannot do without, they use it everyday and especially those people selling this food item make more money from it ranging from those that cook and sell like the food vendors those that process it and sell it and most of the products are planted and harvested in the country was that so why should a bag of rice of a back of Garri is about 120,000 naira

What is meant by inflation is that in general the prices of all goods increase during a certain period. So if the price of food items does not increase, it cannot be called inflation.
The thing is that the authorities should try to control the level of inflation on food items because it is essential commodities and would have a direct bearing on the common man.

I agree with you, in any country, especially developing countries, it will make poor people even more miserable, usually this happens due to the government printing more money to fund large projects, it should be the central bank's job to control inflation.

Because they use it every day is the more reason why sellers today are increasing the price. The cost of transportation has increased, sellers need to transport to get these things they sell.

The cost of goods and services has gone up immensely, making it even more challenging for individuals living below the poverty line to make ends meet.
That's the reality steering us in the face now especially in my dear country Nigeria.

The sad thing is that most people can barely afford to eat with this inflation. I really hope the inflation comes down and things go back to normalcy so that the average man can survive.
At the end of it all, it is the innocent people that would bear the rave of criminality that would happen as a result if people not being able to barely survive.
