Is it illegal to have a 13 year old work for you in your business?

For us entrepreneurs, we are always about cutting costs of running our businesses. And one cost we would love to cut is labour costs. And that might lead some entrepreneurs to have teenagers working for them.

Sometimes, it benefits the teenagers who might not have anyone to look up to. Is it an offence or crime in your country to employ teenagers?

In my country, the labour age limit of the International Labour Organisation is follower and 13 years is illegal to work. The minimum age accepted to have as an employee in my country is 15 years old.

If there is a legal age in your country where people are allowed to work, then it can be considered as illegal if the age group is higher than 13 years.

That notwithstanding, that age limit for employment is only on paper. Young children younger than 13 from impoverished families are grinding it out on menial jobs in the factories and bakeries.
