Do you think mobile phones are making people not end up being social? If so, care to give your reasoning?

In one sense, I tend to agree with it making people less likely to talk to me face to face. Some younger family members and their friends, tend to spend more times on their phones while I am trying to talk to them, which makes it difficult trying to enjoy being able to have fun.

Then again, atleast with most of those who I talk with that I can't talk to them in person, having a phone, makes it easier to atleast stay in communication with them.

We have the same thinking. At home, I feel unhappy because I cannot talk to my two sisters. When they are at home, we do not talk, and when I ask something they just stare at me and nod their head. We never have fun by talking nonsense. They are concentrating on their celfons and when my nephew kids visit home, they are busy playing their favorite mobile legends. Gone are the happy days. It's a sickening reality.:cautious:

People today are too involved in what happens on social networks more than in real life, it is sad to see this, but it is what is happening, there are reports that reveal that most people are losing their ability to concentrate because of this, they are too busy putting their attention on other things.

I am guilty as charged of this. I have lost friends and even lost girlfriends because I am always on phone. The reality is that this is how the world is now. Mobile phones has made a lot of people not to communicate or even have a proper conversation. I think a balance should be struck though and phone time should be scheduled and a time allowed for relating with family and friends.

Oh the irony, people on a forum paying them to post complaining several decades late about people being on their phones.

I agree that mobile phone are making us antisocial, and i am saying that because i spend most of my time on my phone and don't speak with my family's, i really want to spend some quality time with my family but since i have to check my phone every time i forget that i have to communicate with them, but also they are using there phone and don't worry about communication.

I don't really think its phones but rather the use of phones. With the invention of phones it was to make life a lot easier and simply. Most people use it to make new phones and even become more social, then there others who become anti social due to the use of social media on their phone.

There are certain questions that are relevant, regardless of when it is asked. Care to explain why you think that people using any device that you literally do not know they are using (desktop in my case, I rarely post on mobile), somehow relates to a question that you did not answer? :)

People at home seldom talk, they are all busy glancing at their mobile phones, better the celfon receives a smile from them. My sister also laughs while staring at her mobile phone but when I ask her something she just shakes her head, my gosh what is going on .

I really agree that the presence of mobile phones has made many people interact less with the environment. According to mydad, times have changed, when he was young, when people gathered with more than two people they would tell each other stories, but now they are all busy with their mobile phones.

I saw enough in my country about such a behavior: nephews and nice that go to the granny's home, sons and daughters going to the mother's home and the third aged cannot exchange but few words with family members because their relationship with their mobiles is so strong...

I agree on that even at home when ,my nephews and nieces visit us, we are wondering and thinking widely why can't they stop glancing at their mobile phones and have a nice conversation with the ones they visited. Sometimes, I put off my internet to stop them without accusing me,lol.

Switching off the domestic wifi won't help if family members purchase credit for their mobiles. So they can use Facebook, Whats App and Play Store games (or whatever else) in any way:ROFLMAO:.
That is true and kids this time are very smart they know how to load and apply for a data plan so their play is continuous
