Professionals, investors from poorer communities find that fraud government from rich and powerful communities are falsely claiming to own their savings and bank account for receiving online payment. Selling scrap to the local scrap dealer is one source of income, though the money is very less. Does anyone on this forum make money selling scrap to the local scrap dealer?

Of course, you can definitely make some money by selling scrap. Not only will it help you earn extra cash, but it will also allow you to declutter your space. Whenever I come across scrap, I get rid of it because I live in a small apartment.

One of my buddy's dads used to go around collecting scrap metal on trash days, and he could easily make $50–100 on a good day. There were some days he’d make more, depending on how much scrap metal he came across. If he found copper or brass, he’d make even more.

Recently the government of Kenya had actually banned the scrape business in this country. However after protests and demonstrations from the scrape dealers, the government allowed the business to operate once again. I have heard that it's very profitable business.

You can earn a good money in that kind of business. That is legal and the operator of that after gathering sufficient scrap materials , he then go to a buyer to weigh the kilos his scrap obtained. That's a better an honorable earning strategy.

I have never done this myself, so I do not have any personal experience, but from what I have heard, I am guessing it's a good business.
There is always a scrap buyer coming to our house every month, and we give him those that are not anymore needed for free. He is always happy for not getting zero from us at home. He is on bike.

Yes, that is one of the good ways to earn. I have seen lots of scrap dealers having their own huge scrap yard and have seen customers buying the goods from there, and they sell them at good prices almost equivalent to the market price. I remember I bought all the raw material to make a college project from a scrap dealer itself.

I also see here a huge bodega in the city . I see people weighing the scrap materials from the different sellers. I saw it one time and was stunned to see people bringing the scrap materials they bought from house to house.

i appreciate people despite lacking education but they have a very good disposition. They always have money and can save their families from what they earned. it is good money-making.

Here in my area we used to see some of them move around with a wheelbarrow, they mostly buy damaged irons or metals.

Yeah, it's happening anywhere as long as there are buyers for scrap things. They are going to recycle the scrap and transform them into something like home decors and smaller tools and nails.

Yeah, been doing that for years. Mostly non-ferrous metals - aluminum (soda cans), brass and copper (bare/insulated). You'd be surprised at how fickle the scrap markets can be at times.
