There is this lady that is my neighbour. She told me to come play for her on her birthday party. She didn't make any payment but promised to pay after a week. I mobilized equipment and my team to deliver excellent music for her in her birthday party.

After one week as agreed, I went to ask her for my payment. This lady shouted on me and ran me down. She should have just said she didn't have money yet. She shouted on me and got angry. I left humiliated. And I made up my mind not to ask for that money again. I didn't even want the money again. Fast forward to three weeks later, she is begging me to get the money for the job. I have told her I don't need the money again. She has been begging.

Am I wrong not to want the money again?

For me, I would take it as a loss irrespective of the amount. I would just shut down that chapter and face my life.
 
You can choose not to collect the money, its your choice and there is notting wrong with that, if you can cope with not collecting it. Some customers are just very poor in dealing with others.

It's your right to get the payment for the performance you gave but then I think she has some design on you.
 
Some people do realize their mistakes late so they try to make amends. This might just be what happened here.
