One of the things about myself is that I don't always like to say what I can't do. And I have made up my mind that if I am going to marry, I would have to write my own vows which would obviously contain only the things I can do in the marriage with no exaggeration or assumptions.

I think repeating those generic vows puts a burden of responsibility on you even when you are sure you can't do it.

Would you prefer the undoable generic vows or prefer to use your own doable vow?

I'm single dunno what to do about it but for sure in marriage there's a vow you and your love must pledge and the witness is the living God. As long as you're faithful and love true there's no need to use generic or doable vow because you might fail on your promises.

Marriage is a relationship where you have to make some kind of adjustments but not to the extent of harming yourself. I have led 34years of married life and did make adjustments and made changes in my husband's nature too.

I doubt there is any law that says the couples must be the ones to write it themselves or if they are to use a readymade one. I think it depends on the couples thetmselves.
