In the financial life of several families, we often find that the wife's salary/income is higher than the husband's, although according to several psychologists, the imbalance of financial income does not always have a bad impact but has the potential to have a higher risk of triggering conflict, compared to where the husband's income is higher than the wife's income. If this imbalance is allowed to continue without any effort to overcome it, various negative impacts will arise, such as the husband-wife relationship becoming disharmonious, the husband is inferior, and it can also become a sexual dysfunction disorder.

My sister is a Chemist at Del Monte Philippines Incorporated. She is receiving a better salary than her husband despite both of them is having the same job description, Chemist, but her husband is with another company. So far there's no discrimination in relation to their income.

It depends, though, i have seen cases like this where things are still pretty normal, you won't even know the wife is the major bread winner cause of how they run thing, she still respects and treats the husband well. Then there are cases where it always ends in conflict

That's right, it will depend on each couple, especially the wife should not be dominant, let alone consider her husband as a subordinate in her office, mutual understanding and good communication are needed and the wife should still respect her husband, especially not making decisions on her own that require a lot of money, such as buying a car must ask for the husband's opinion, even though it is entirely the wife's income.

Well said, communication plays a very important role in this aspect, cause in situations like this, the husband would be very sensitive to every little thing, so the wife might have to out in extra effort to ensure there is no misunderstanding.

It all depends on individual differences, environmental and psychological factors. Now, in most western countries, it is possible and highly acceptable. But in most African countries, it will bring total breakdown of respect and mutual understanding. Once the wife income is greater than that of the husband , the husband will lose respect.

The impact if the wife has a bigger salary than her husband is insecurity. The husband might feel insecure and may always feel low. It's best for the husband not to act that way. He has to increase his salary by asking a promotion or add skills.
