The most common reasons for me not sticking to my budget is the time l get something that l had longed for a very long time and here comes with a very cheaper offer price that is in the buy one get one free now while the stocks last basis.
This thing really destroys my budget and l oftenly can't help that.

The economic is inflating and upsetting all budgets. Nigeria inflation this year is over 30%. A bag of rice that was sold around $25 last year is now over $60. Now, it is very obvious that no budget will work with this level of inflation.

Not adhering to a budget is a normal problem, even if a business consultant or accountant is an expert in making budgets, they may not always be able to stick to the budget they make, because we don't have supervisors (especially singles), if you are married it will certainly be different. lol.

For me the main reason for not sticking with the budget is the unexpected offers and discounts that comes unprecedentedly when you shop on the shopping malls. This could be very tempting and force you to buy the items on offer that you didn't plan buying them at all.

For me it is usually unplanned expenses. Though there are times where I spend on things I really do not need, but majority of the time it is usually to sort out things i did not plan for but are really needed.

Budgeting is tough, especially when deals jump out at you. As a student just learning to manage money, I've been there. Something that helps me is making a list of "fun fund" items I'm saving for so I don't go off track. If the sale item isn't on the list, I leave it.
