One of the vital things that people consider when looking for a job is transportation costs to the job itself.

Some people are almost working for free because when you deduct their transportation cost to work from their salaries, very little amount of money is left.

What percentage of a salary is reasonable enough to use and pay your way to work every month?

I think that if it exceeds 5% of what you charge, it is already a lot, imagine paying 10% of what you charge for transportation only, it is too much, but hey, maybe for some 5% is still a lot.

I can relate to that problem in our capital city most of the employees they spend almost more than half of their payment on transportation and rent coast and they don't have any money for staving and have very small money for food, so basically they are working without any profits.

I spend 20% of my monthly salary on transportation. It is really a lot of money but I don't have a choice

In general, if we work for either the government or a private company, we will get transportation fees and lunch money so we don't need to deduct a percentage of our monthly salary, but if we don't go to work for whatever reason, transportation money and lunch money will be paid. cut from what we should receive.

I only buy gasoline for my car and I spend my own money. There is no allowance, but my workplace is near. It takes me to reach only 15 minutes from home to the university.
Don't you spend money on car maintenance, which you can consider as an expense, so not only buying petrol, but also tires that have to be replaced, etc. Using a mobile phone alone is actually more fulfilling, especially if there are traffic jams. So basically you also have to set aside money to buy petrol and car maintenance.

It is normal to have the maintenance but I am doing it twice a year only. I always set aside a budget for my expenses.

Your country actually works. In my country, no one cares to give you transportation allowance. If you even ask for a raise to meet up with rising transportation costs, your boss would antagonize you for that.

I do not need a transportation allowance as I work as an online freelancer from home. One of the benefits of working remotely is that I do not have to wake up early to catch a bus or train for work. Moreover, I have a flexible work schedule that allows me to work at any time of the day that suits me.
